Michael and Clare O'Dowd founded O'Dowd Christie Hair, bringing together extensive international expertise to deliver innovative and creative hairdressing. During their careers they have been recognised as finalists for W.A/NT Hairdresser of the Year for the AHFA's/Hair Expo, taking home two first place awards in 2015 and 2016.

I am thrilled to share my experience working with O’Dowd Christie Hair Salon and the incredible journey we've embarked upon together. As a dedicated partner, I've had the privilege of providing comprehensive financial and business support to Michael and Claire that has truly transformed how they viewed their operations.

From the very beginning, I recognised the passion and talent that O’Dowd Christie Hair Salon brings to their craft. However, I also understood the challenges that can arise when managing the financial aspects of a business. Our journey started as their accounting and bookkeeping advisor, I was able to streamline their financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance every step of the way. By organizing their financial records and providing transparent insights, we were able to make informed decisions that positively impacted their bottom line.

My role extended beyond just numbers; I acted as a business coach, helping Michael to fully grasp the intricacies of their business finances. Our interactions became opportunities to empower them with the knowledge they needed to make confident choices. Together, we dissected their spending and payroll habits and identified areas for optimisation, allowing them to allocate resources more efficiently and strategically.

One of the most exciting moments in our partnership was when we delved into significant commercial decisions. I had the honour of lending my expertise to O’Dowd Christie Hair Salon as they considered expanding their business. Our collaborative efforts led to sound business advice that aligned with their goals, giving them the confidence to take bold steps forward.

One of the main strategic goals was for Michael and Claire to purchase a commercial property and move their salon form a rented space to one they owned. We explored new horizons by setting up a Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF), which enabled them to embark on an exciting journey of purchasing a commercial property, that they moved into in 2022. This move not only secured their future but also showcased their determination to thrive in the industry.

Reflecting on our journey, I am humbled by the strides Michael and Claire have made. Their dedication to their craft, combined with my commitment to their financial success, has resulted in a partnership that's truly transformative and them now being fully in control of their business future. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their growth and can't wait to see what the future holds for O’Dowd Christie Hair Salon.
